We’re stopping in Cozumel in a couple of weeks on a cruise. We actually won this trip (7-day Caribbean), so we’re trying to keep costs down since we didn’t plan for it!Any good ideas for things to do that don’t cost a lot but are still safe? There will be four other ships there the same day, so I expect it to be crowded. I speak decent Spanish, so that helps.We love snorkeling, nature, history, and culture… tequila is cool too. I was thinking about taking a taxi to Punta Sur Eco Park, but I’m not sure how easy it is to get a taxi back. I heard phone service is bad there.Anyone have thoughts? Or just some good luck wishes?

Chankanaab Park was great for snorkeling when we visited in December. We didn’t book an excursion, just grabbed a taxi from the port. It’s super close—only about five minutes away. Entry was around $30 per person. We had no trouble getting cell service or finding a taxi back.Check out some videos on YouTube to see if it looks good to you.

That sounds awesome! Thanks for the tip!
Paradise Beach is our go-to spot. You don’t have to do the all-inclusive option. Unless their website says they’re sold out, you can just show up. Entry is $10 per person, plus you agree to spend at least $10 on food or drinks.
@Mal
Been to Paradise Beach a few times, it’s always a good time. Cozumel is also fun just for people-watching!
@Mal
I’ve heard good things about that place. Thanks for the info!
The Cozumel Food Tour was amazing!

Oh, I’d love to try that!
Look up Buccanos Beach Club. It’s a beautiful spot with great snorkeling and amazing food! The pictures on their website are actually legit. Entry is $30, but they give you a $30 credit toward food or drinks. Taxi ride there is about $20 each way.
@Wes
That sounds perfect! Checking it out now!
We’re going to Mr. Sanchos and planning to do parasailing!
I always go diving in Cozumel. The sea life is amazing, visibility is great, and there’s plenty to see. Way better than getting stuck in tourist traps!

That’s good to know! We’re visiting soon and booked a van tour. Was worried there wouldn’t be much to see since it’s a small island, but hoping for some cool sights!
Snuba was a blast! Check if your ship offers it as an excursion, or you can book it near the port on your own.
We just stayed on the ship in Cozumel.
Renting a scooter and exploring the island was the best part of our trip! We were there for three days, and the day we had the scooter was the most fun!

That’s a great idea! Thanks!
Just a heads-up—Cozumel is getting pricey. There aren’t many nice beaches left that don’t charge entry fees. Taxis are at least $60 round trip for the good spots. If you’re traveling as a couple, expect to spend about $200 total on transportation, food, and entry fees.
