I recently left Wonders of the Seas. I will never know who I am outside that ship when I book my next voyage
My sadness begins as soon as we receive the letter instructing us to leave our bags in the hallway!
@Adele That is the worst thing ever.
Three are waiting in line as of September 26.
@Camilla three by March 2025 in the cue. It will be a hectic six months.
We booked the next day after receiving the email from “one week ago.”
Yes that depression is real! But now you have something to look forward too
I usually have two reservations at once. It lessens the suffering.
I usually consider which one to book next because of this!
Totally natural, BUT, I lovingly ask this question:
What about the cruise for yourself did you enjoy?
For context if I may, I found myself living a much healthier life while on board than at home.
After recognizing that, I carried things from the cruise to my day to day. Waking up early to workout, actually have breakfast or tea to start the morning.
I love puzzles, trivia, games with friends. I found groups of people back home that also enjoy that, and they often reach out encouraging me to do so!
Biggest for me was nutritionally as well. Cruises get a bad rap for helping glutinous people binge. For me, I often skip meals to prioritize different things or work. Learning to shape my cruise schedule around meals allowed me to learn a new way to approach my daily life.
Instead of making a giant meal or filling the fridge, I often meal prep little snack and meals to enjoy throughout the day. And enjoy a larger dinner.
Alright that’s enough blabbing. Your experience will vary ship to ship experience to experience. Another way to balance that is stay active on forums, YouTube videos around cruising, and Facebook groups! Your wallet may have different opinions as there is always a “sale” going on in the cruise world.
Happy cruising friend!
I like to research cruises for my next trip because it’s the only thing that has helped me avoid despair. Until I find a cruise that I can’t refuse and can afford, the research is free.
While you’re on board, make another reservation. Repeat.
It will arrive soon. I’m ecstatic to see my dogs back right now. It will most likely hit tomorrow when I return to work.
Although it won’t be until October of next year, I do have another one booked.
@Jordan as in really! It was really touching to pick up my pups from boarding; Tuesday will be the hardest day because I have an extra day off work!
This is how I ended up staying on Cunard’s Queen Anne for 2 months. Nearing the end of each cruise I’d be like “I don’t want to go” and go book the next sailing if it was available. It can be dangerous!
Make another reservation!
