I saw that in 2027, they’re taking Bonaire off the list of stops. Does anyone know how big of a deal that is? I was really hoping to go there for the diving and the super clear beaches and water.
People always talk up this cruise itinerary as a must-do, but I rarely see people talk about what they actually enjoy at each of the three main stops, so I’m not sure what I’m missing out on. Looks like they’re swapping Bonaire for their private island (I usually go with Carnival).
Any advice on whether I should go ahead in 2026? I might end up around Havana then, which is new for me. It costs a bit more, but I can make it work.
Here’s a copy of the original post in case you want to see how it started:
In 2027, they’re removing Bonaire from the itineraries. I’m wondering if that’s a big change, as I wanted to visit for the diving and the clear water/beaches.
Many talk about this itinerary as a top cruise, but I’m unsure what everyone enjoys about the three main stops since it’s not often discussed. In 2027, it will be replaced with their private island (I usually cruise with Carnival).
Looking for advice—could consider 2026 but might end up around Havana, which is new to me. A bit pricier but manageable.

If you’re up for it, try the ABC Islands! We did them back in 2017, dove in Curaçao and Bonaire, and loved it—saw a lot in Bonaire especially.
Thanks! The options on ships were Magic, Vista, and Horizon. I’m leaning toward Horizon since so far it hasn’t had any engine problems.
I’ve done two versions of these cruises, one with Bonaire (ABC Islands) and one without (AC+DR). Since I dive, I’d say go for both if you ever have the chance, but if it’s just one, wait for the ABC Islands.

I snorkel right now, but I’m planning to get dive-certified before I go!
Go for it! You won’t regret it. Honestly, Bonaire is so amazing for SCUBA, it might spoil you right away. I’ve only done two dives there, and it’s been my favorite place.
Bonaire is pretty small, around 24,000 people. They only allow one cruise ship in port at a time so it stays more relaxed. If you can find a cruise that stops there, it’s worth it. The water is as clear as they say!
On my last trip (March 2024), I got to visit both Bonaire and Aruba.
Renting a golf cart in Bonaire was one of my favorite excursions! For about $100, you can go wherever you like. I took my snorkel gear and explored on my own—it was actually my best excursion ever.
