Any advice for St. Lucia,

We’re going to make a stop in St. Lucia. What should I do around the port area, if anything?

I realize this isn’t the response you were hoping for, but the one island where I would advise going on an expedition is St. Lucia. There is so much to do in St. Lucia, but I love to explore around the port and NEVER go on excursions. After visiting almost fifty ports, St. Lucia remains the best.

Our second favorite Caribbean island is St. Lucia. We returned and stayed at a resort for five days because we loved it so much. But as other people have pointed out, the port offers nothing to see or do. To go about, you’ll need to hire a taxi or go on an excursion. Just so you know, the island might not be ideal for you if you frequently get car sickness because of how winding the roads are.

I recently went on a zip-lining excursion, which was my first time ever, and it was an incredible experience! As a bonus, during the trip to and from the zip line, we had a guide who shared fascinating insights into the history and economy of St. Lucia. We returned with plenty of time to explore the shops at the port’s complex. I love picking up local liquor and sauces as gifts, and the duty-free shops made it even better!

If zip-lining isn’t your thing, or you prefer not to do another excursion, you can simply wander around the shopping complex at the port to grab some souvenirs. There are also some well-reviewed restaurants across the street from the complex, though I didn’t get a chance to try them myself.

St. Lucia is truly a stunning island. Be sure to try the banana ketchup (no tomatoes!), as well as their banana liqueur, elderflower liqueur, and hot sauces. I hope you have an amazing cruise!

The water is warm and clean, and the reef is amazing. Snorkeling is strongly recommended. There, we SCUBA, and it is incredible.

I’ve been to St.Lucia twice, once on our honeymoon (flew there) and later on a cruise with friends. Both times we did Benny’s Boat Tours and I would highly recommend it.

On our honeymoon we met Benny on the beach and decided to take one of his tours. Went on a boat tour around the island, snorkeling below the Pitons, went to the sulfer springs, went to a hot spring in the mountains, ate at Benny’s “mom’s” house (the food was great), and drank some rum. We had a blast.

When we were going back on the cruise a few years later, I reached out to Benny on Facebook and set it up. He was waiting for us to get off the ship, we hopped on a boat not far away, and went off on the tour. Really simple and a great time.

The solution is Rum Therapy Bar & Treatment Center.

@Meech Indeed, Rum Therapy is a lot of fun!

(But first, take a boat ride to visit the Pitons).

In my opinion, the physical beauty of the Caribbean is unmatched, particularly with the Pitons.

Not really. That’s also the reason that, in comparison to other Easter Caribbean islands, taxi drivers bother you far more there.
