Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about booking an NCL cruise to Alaska but have never used a travel agent. I’ve heard about CruiseCompete.com and was wondering if anyone here has used it before. Does it work well? Any advice or experiences to share?

You don’t book directly with Cruise Compete. Instead, you submit a request for bids and travel agents will make their offers. It’s a good idea to check reviews of the agents who bid (both on CruiseCompete and other sites) before choosing one.
I’ve used Cruise Compete several times and have always booked with the same travel agent after my initial inquiry. I’ve even exchanged emails with the CEO, and they seem pretty responsive if there’s an issue.
I’ve booked with them five times already, and I’ve had no issues at all. I’ve gone on all those cruises. Sometimes I find better deals elsewhere, but I always run an inquiry through CruiseCompete to see what agents offer. It’s a good way to compare.
I’ve used CruiseCompete about 10 or 15 times and booked through their agents at least 8 times. Typically, the prices are similar to what you’d find directly on the cruise line’s website, but the agents usually add some onboard credit (OBC) as a bonus.
You’ll probably have the best experience if you know exactly what type of cabin you want and mention that when you submit your request on CruiseCompete.
I like CruiseCompete. I usually submit a quote request whenever I’m thinking about booking a cruise. Their customer service is good too if you run into issues. I’ve only booked through an agent once, since the prices don’t usually beat what I can get by booking myself. But it’s still worth sending a quote request to see what you get.
