First Canadian Cruise: Am I making the correct reservation?

NOT YET BOOKED - FIRST ASK CRUISETALKERS

October 20–October 27, 2024: Jewel of the Seas, a 7-night Canadians cruise with Royal Caribbean.
The trip makes ports of call at Portland, Maine, Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Halifax, New Brunswick. Will this week still allow us to witness the stunning fall foliage?

Is boarding the Jewel of the Seas a worthwhile endeavor?

We have October 18 through October 28 off. We would have to leave MCI or STL by car or via plane. Would you guys suggest a different schedule? 98k Chase points, 40k American Airlines points, 105k Capital One points, and an extra $3–$k in funding.

Two passengers. At 3:07 PM, the aircraft lands in Boston, and at 5:00 PM, the ship departs. Is this enough time to get from the Boston airport to the Boston port without checking bags?

How come there are no checked luggage on a cruise? Are you planning to travel light for your cruise? Because there are so many different activities and things to pack for, I always bring the most luggage when I go on cruises (and I’m a man; I can’t see a lady not checking a bag for a flight to a one-week cruise).

@Adele When I go on a cruise, I usually simply bring a carry-on bag and a personal item because it’s so much easier to bring my luggage with me and I can bring my bag straight to my stateroom as I board the ship.

I am obviously an oddity, though, having traveled through Europe for a month with nothing more than a carry-on.

Free carry-on and personal bag for every one of us!

Portland’s fall foliage was beginning to change last week.

The Jewel of the Seas was something we adored. It’s actually our favorite ship to date. I wonder if the lovely warm swimming pool is still there?

What a fantastic route! However, ours traveled to Quebec City from Brooklyn. That voyage was enjoyable for us.

It’s almost the end of the season for foliage, but I think you’ll be fine. It will take you a week or two to reach your destination before the first snowfall.

Is this a joke, correct?
