I’m calling this post out. Anthem doesn’t even have water slides. Their buffet wasn’t great either. Sounds like you’re just venting.
Maybe you just prefer RC. I rate coffee, buffets, and dining differently depending on the ship. My cruise hierarchy changes all the time.

How can Carnival’s coffee compare to RC? RC had espresso machines at multiple spots, while Carnival just serves burnt drip coffee.
@Harlem
Havana Bar on Celebration doesn’t serve Cuban coffee? Pretty sure it does.
@Harlem
Excel class ships have an espresso machine accessible to everyone, unlike RC where it’s a paid privilege.

I was talking about the free coffee in the buffet. If you’re including paid options, NCL used to win with unlimited Starbucks on some packages.
I’ve cruised both, and Carnival’s service always felt more personal. The room stewards and dining staff made the experience great.
Food opinions vary a lot based on personal preferences and what people are used to at home.
I’m on Explorer of the Seas now. The Lavazza urns are decent, and I buy the cafe card for my morning Starbucks.
Avoid the buffet on Carnival. But the pizza and JavaBlue specialty coffees were good!
