Check out the app! Lol maybe it’ll let you complete check-in and you’ll receive a free trip due to a computer error, lol
@Adele Yes, in case it’s a scam, check there or on your account via the RC website instead of following any links in the email.
We also receive these kinds of unexpected ones from Carnival and RC. They need to work on their comms, for sure.
Take it on! (double-check; might be a hoax.)
@Candy Links and email headers are authentic
Might be new way to sell cruises? Complete fake check-in and the last step will be payment? …
@Dacosta Perhaps a new strategy for cruise sales? Complete a fictitious check-in, and payment will be the final step? …
@Candy Making a link and header that looks legitimate is really simple. Use the links and phone numbers on their official websites instead of sending links via emails. Authentic websites that don’t appear because of Google advertisements.
I wouldn’t click on any links because it can be a hoax!
A lot of hotels and cruise businesses run on CRS systems that are tremendously glitchy. I would make sure your card isn’t being used by anybody else, but it’s probably something to do with the processes they employ.
Avoid it. It’s a fraud. It is not how the RCI post appears.
@Hudson Indeed it does; I received the same one yesterday and will be going on an Icon cruise on Saturday. It comes from their express notification email, the same one that informed everyone on the Icon cruise this past week of its cancellation as well as other emails. Definitely legitimate.
While testing something, the IT staff neglected to off email notifications. This is a common occurrence with software.
Perhaps just promote the terminal?
My profession is email marketing. Sometimes we make mistakes and send emails to the wrong persons instead of specific ones.
How many times must I tell them all? This email is authentic; it originates from rccl (their identity and address are visible in the header), and all of the links take users directly to the company’s website. It’s rccl accidentally sending me an email; it’s not a scam!
@Candy Probably 12?
@Mitchelle Yes, I received it yesterday and am using Icon Saturday with gusto.
Make sure you sleep outside the port three days prior to the ship disembarking and arrive two months before departure. If your arriving flight is booked less than two weeks before your departure, you will regret it and post on this subreddit!
