Removing food from a cruise liner

I’m going to Orlando or Miami with a 23-foot dual console boat that I own as a member of a boat club. I would want to pack some food and/or snacks for the boat excursion. I don’t want to spend time at the port doing food shopping. Though I’m not sure what prepared food is, I am aware that it is safe to take off the ship. Aside from cereal, what else would you suggest taking off the cruise ship?

My usual practice is to arrive with some zip-lock bags and use whatever quick bread is on hand to build a peanut butter sandwich. Most sites don’t require checking while disembarking, however it’s best to remove anything before reboarding the ship.

Fresh sandwiches are typically offered in the morning for pack-n-go excursions on Celebrity and P&O Australia, which I think is a nice touch, but it’s still a pain because they don’t give you any kind of bag to take them off in.

You can certainly remove the food. It’s something that my family always does.

I haven’t seen any premade meals on the trip I’m currently on.

Acquire some pre-made snacks and bring them along for the journey. I always do that.

Not much is prepared to prevent people from removing it; in certain lines, cereal is even placed in dispensers. It would be best to bring your own.

Could you just grab some munchies and head over to the boat club? That’s my course of action.

Your best option is definitely baked goods like muffins, pastries, cereal, danish, cookies, and the like. Regretfully, if you are traveling straight to this port in Orlando, upon disembarking, customs officials might stop you and request that you dispose of anything that looks like produce or agricultural products.

There isn’t really any premade food on cruise ships unless you purchase a bag of chips or something else from one of the shops.

On all the ships I’ve been on the restrictions are no food to be taken off the ship.

I wouldn’t advise breaking the rules, but it’s up to you if you do.

However, your post has me a little perplexed. Are you going to start doing this as soon as your cruise is over? What is the duration of your charter? For the entire afternoon or longer?

Maybe the charter firm will provide you with some food supplies. You can purchase packed foods prior to the cruise if that’s what you’re searching for.

@Alain You are able to personally take out boats at Carefree Boat Club. It’s from 2-6pm and the dock is 7 minutes from the cruise port. It’s 8 p.m. last call.

Take a ziplock bag and get some cheese and meats.

Fruit, cheese, muffins. When I go on treks in ports, I always bring little containers or ziplock bags so I can grab snacks from the ship.

@Dorea Take caution… I’ve gone to ports with dogs in order to detect fruits hidden in people’s bags, even in containers and ziploc bags.

@Gordon When I went on an Australian cruise, a dog became obsessed with my handbag. There was no food in it but I explained I’d brought some apples back to the cabin after breakfast.

@Grande Oh my, I haven’t encountered that. That’s quite fascinating! From now on, I’ll limit it to muffins and packaged snacks that I typically bring with me. Regards!
