Unexpected solitary travel

It appears that I will be traveling alone on this cruise that I have scheduled for next week. Had it booked with my boyfriend of 4 years, but we had a dispute 2 days ago and I haven’t heard from him since. Since I’ve already paid for everything, maybe I can at least get his excursion money and drink package reimbursed.

Is it fun to cruise alone or after a breakup? Could you please encourage me?

Without a doubt, proceed! I was supposed to travel on a cruise with a buddy, but a few days prior to the trip, she experienced a death in the family, so I went alone and had an amazing time.

The ideal method to stop thinking about your ex-boyfriend is to go on a cruise.

Enjoy yourself, unwind, and keep in mind that you are free to do anything you want.

I adore doing solo cruises! You are not required to check in with your travel companion and are free to do anything you choose at any time. Plus, when groups discover you’re traveling alone, they typically “adopt” you. If you want to or if it’s not your thing, making friends is really simple. Enjoy a fantastic journey!

Examine your policy for travel insurance. You might be able to fire him and get your additional costs reimbursed. I choose the John Hancock Gold plan since it offers 100% cancellation coverage for any reason and reimbursement for additional travel expenditures (Alainz is inexpensive but useless). Also, if you used a credit card to make the reservation, review the travel insurance that came with it. Most cards offer travel insurance, and certain American Express business levels also offer trip delay (in the event that your cruise is delayed in port) and change-in-plane expenditure coverage.

You might have to reprice if you cancel him. Avoid doing that. You will receive his booze package, port fees, etc. back if he doesn’t show up.

@Gordon I had the same thinking, but is he able to cancel the cruise for her? How could he be a jerk?

@Grande What if he acts rudely? He really is a jerk!

To meet people who are cruising alone, look for a solo cruisers gathering on the cruise daily update. To ensure that you don’t have to eat all of your meals by yourself while on Norwegian, the cruise director team will arrange a group dinner reservation.

I only cruise alone, and it’s enjoyable because you can do anything and anytime you want.

Trip and drink package expenses ought to be reimbursed.

I recently returned from a 10-day solo Mediterranean cruise (my first, but I’ve been on over 14). I had a great time and got to know a ton of amazing people that I definitely wouldn’t have if I had been in a group.

I urged my friend to go after experiencing the same thing. She made many of friends and had a great time. It allowed her the space, time, and clarity to recognize that she needed a partner in order to pursue her love of travel.

Just so you know, in addition to the various activities on some cruises, there are scheduled solitary meetups. To what destination are you heading? Although you might not receive your entire refund, the cruise may nevertheless grant you shipboard credit. That may always be applied to travel.

Wishing you luck!
