Though some people enjoy Virgin Voyages because of their adult-only policy, delicious food, and other features, there are also those who don’t like them. To those who have traveled on Virgin Voyages, what aspects of the company did you find objectionable or detestable? I find it hard to believe Virgin Voyages survived, especially considering that they launched in 2020.
They’re incredibly cozy, but are they also boring as hell? I’m not against them; I simply wouldn’t pay to ride them when I could have the same experience at a wonderful, opulent resort on land with a lot less work and an equally satisfying experience.
@Alain That’s not the only thing people have said; a buddy of mine claimed that cruises like Princess and Celebrity felt more “adult” and offered more activities in contrast.
Small bathrooms, rough beds, and a lack of entertainment were among the venue’s shortcomings. All of the seating areas appeared nice, but you couldn’t sit and converse with people because you had to either lie down or recline. It was a joke, pool. The ship has none of the wow impact of a ferry.
Even with these substantial upgrades, the entertainment pales in comparison to industry leaders.
Standard cabins have relatively tiny bathrooms. The delayed boarding time is not so much a convenience as it is an annoyance. The dish was more about display than flavor. I don’t love preplanning as much as you should, and the app is . While it might work for a special trip with friends, we won’t choose it every time.
It bothers me that they left Australia.
@Dacosta P&O also left, and as time goes on, so will other cruise companies. In comparison to other nations, the amount of paperwork, costs, and demands made by the government are allegedly exorbitant.
@Dorea Indeed, port charges are high in many nations. I recall Virgin saying that the hazards associated with transporting to the Middle East destroyed it for them.
Collard added a slap to his remarks, referring to Australians as a bunch of disheveled dingoes who dress too casually.
Given that the ships purchase a substantial quantity of food at ports, operating costs must be a concern. However, ticket costs appear to be more than for comparable US cruises.
@Dacosta Probably a lack of reservations. Ultimately, they could have avoided the risks by basing a ship in Alaska or the west coast and sailing down from there. I sincerely hope things get better there. It was a great cruise I took on Radiance of the Seas from Fremantle to New Zealand to Sydney.
P&O Australia is still in Australia. After more than 90 years, they will vanish as they are being assimilated into Carnival. P&O UK visits exclusively when on world cruises.
Even with these substantial upgrades, the entertainment pales in comparison to industry leaders.
@Grande What kind of fun is this? Haha.
All I can recall is that they offered three options: the Octopus Party, Duel Reality, and Diva.
The casino is likewise terrible. Impossible prize tiers, expensive table minimums, and a poor selection of slots.
The Good:
The Food & Beverage Wait Staff
The Most Restaurant Selections and food choices
Shore Excursions
Cabins with balconies
Shop Sales Staff
The Bad:
The On-board ship Entertainment. Other cruise lines put VV to shame!
They Do Nothing special for Sailors celebrating a big event i.e. Wedding anniversary or Honeymoon.
The Customer service team. they need major training on better attitude and communication.
The Ugly:
VV Mobile and Website App. Horrible!
On-board shop Selection very lack luster!
@Jayden Which other genres of entertainment appeal to you?
Compared to other lines, their port selection is more focused on parties than on history or culture.
Not a big fan of the entertainment either.
The most of the remarks are accurate. Add the expense, and it was merely ok. With the exception of the restaurants, the ship’s overall design ages quickly.
Fantastic ships, but dull ports.
