What’s the best way to spend a day in Key West?

Don’t miss the Duval trolley! It’s free and a fun way to see the town.

I did the Hop on Hop Off Trolley and it was great. I booked it at the kiosk, which was cheaper. I also got to visit Hemingway and the Butterfly Houses. I did a mix of tours and local spots like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant for lunch. I even got recommendations from the visitor center for the best key lime pie that wasn’t too touristy.

I’d recommend the Rum Bar, key lime pie at Blue Heaven, have a drink or three, and enjoy some live music.

Just walking around is great. Key West is cool with bars, restaurants, seafood, funky people, and cool architecture outside the port area.

The bike tour is a fun way to see the island!

Check out Schooner Wharf Bar or Lagerheads and explore Duval Street while you’re at it.

We rented bikes and had an amazing time exploring the area.

Definitely go to Hemingway House, Truman’s Little White House, and the Southernmost Point.

I forgot about Truman’s Little White House! It was really interesting to tour.

We booked jet skis and parasailing right after getting off the ship with Fury. It was a lot of fun and reasonably priced!

The Butterfly Conservatory is really nice, and it’s near the Southernmost Point.

Fort Zachary Taylor state park has a beautiful beach if you want to relax a bit.

Do a bar/food crawl, you can get a good taste of local flavor!

Grab a drink at Sloppy Joe’s while you’re in Key West.

We rented a golf cart and drove all around, then had lunch, drinks, and shopped on Duval Street. It was such a good time.

We actually got our marriage license while we were there, that was a nice surprise!

If you want to escape the crowds, head to Dante’s on Caroline Street. It has a pool, and all the same food you’d find all over Key West. Or rent a moped and check out Sandy’s Cafe for a café con leche, then head to Smathers beach for a less crowded experience. I recommend Hogfish on Stock Island for some amazing food.
